The gross monthly salary threshold for a highly skilled migrant changes every year on January 1st. The highly skilled migrant must meet the required amount that applies on the date of the application.
Highly skilled migrant salary 2025
As of January 1, 2025 the minimum income norm for highly skilled migrants will apply, gross per month exluding 8% holiday allowance:
Highly skilled migrant gross monthly salary under 30 years old: € 4,171.00
Highly skilled migrant gross monthly salary 30 years or older: € 5,688.00
Highly skilled migrant gross monthly salary after orientation year (reduced salary criterion): € 2,989.00
The salary threshold 2025 for highly skilled migrants applies to all applications on or after January 1, 2025.
For highly skilled migrants already on payroll and for applications filed before January 1st, 2025, the current salary criterion of these highly skilled migrants remains. In other words, if a highly skilled migrant is already employed and has a valid residence permit, it is not necessary to adjust their salary.
